Donate Your Skill and Time for the Education of the Children in Pakistan

Vertical Walks is a group of adventure, nature and peace lovers who believe in meeting not only physical challenges in shape of mountain climbing but also consider fighting against the social evils by utlising the available resources, which is indeed a bigger challenge. Vertical Walks has not been solely established for the commercial purposes but more social themes behind the scene. The team is working to establish a forum of Volunteers from different walks of life with different professions, who will work and coordinate to develop ideas and modules to utilise the resources of the people for the people.

Pakistan, full of majestic mountains, the world’s longest glaciers out of the Poles, beautiful alpine lakes and a variety of breathtaking valleys, in short this region of Pakistan has a very unique value in terms of adventure travel and cultural tourism. Every year hundreds of tourists visit to explore different valleys, climbers attempting the challenging mountains of the world and trekkers retracing the ancient routes and absorbing the rugged beauties of the mountains and gigantic glaciers, however on the contrary the sons of these mountains, the indigenous are fighting hard for survival and require more attention from us, who are usually ignored in terms of benefits from the tourism revenues. This information is based on the Vertical Walks observations and assessments during exploration missions since 1998.

Vertical Walks has introduced the idea of “Travel for a Cause!” to bring a change. Team VW has explored most of the famous locations of this area and build up a team of professionals who are capable to provide you a variety of services to assist your travel itinerary in Northern Pakistan. We have prepared very special, economical and easy to afford packages based on minimum profits. We will donate a major share of the profit for the development of education environment in the schools for the children of those people who support all the expeditions and travelers by providing the best of their labour e.g. Porters, Cooks, Porter Leaders, Mountain Guides etc.

We are designing small educational projects e.g. Art Workshops for the Primary School Students, Sports Competitions, Health and Hygiene awareness programs etc. (Please visit VW’s Projects page for further details) and will implement them by utilizing a maximum share of the company revenues coming from the visiting tourists and other donations. So we give the idea of Travel to Educate, if you travel through Vertical Walks means you are also contributing for a major cause at the same time. Further, we’ll also design special travel itineraries for those individuals who would personally be interested to contribute their services for the implementation of short projects e.g. Artists/Climbers may help us to implement the Art Workshops for Children.

“Travel for a Cause!” is our strategy is to increase awareness and fight extremism, terrorism and all other social evils and challenges our society is facing, in a peaceful manner. It’s the highest mountain of the world to climb and we need to think and act in a different way, to bring a change and to coup with this challenge. Everyone walk horizontally on the earth, few people walk different and they walk vertically.
